Bernard Whebell
President
Worked three years with the State Government within the Department of Employment, Vocational Training and Industrial Relations.
Commenced with Ulton in 1994, progressing through the firm to become Manager of the Audit division in 1999, and then Partner in August 2006.
David Rees
Immediate Past President
Married to Pauline, David Rees says he is retired.
While being retired, he is a Director of We Care 2 Emergency food charity, administrator of The Welcome Project, a part time lecturer, author and pilot.
Before retirement he has been a director of nine private companies, Managing Director of one and CEO of a manufacturing company. Further back he was a Local Government Engineer, a Shire Councilor and a member of the North Coast NSW Regional Development Board as well as running a couple of thousand sheep and a Hereford Stud.

David Buckley

David is the Practice Adminstrator, Partner and a commercial property solicitor with Bell
Dixon Butler. After working in CBD Brisbane law firms where he began to develop his
interest in property and commercial law, he moved back to the Bay in 1999 to establish
a practice, a family and live within 2 streets of the beach. David’s substantial client
following now includes government bodies, major developers and business owners. He
is known for his lateral approach to legal problems and focus on applying his legal
knowledge to achieve the outcome required by the client.

Terry has been in the accounting and auditing sector since 1975, the last 25 years as a partner in Canning Lynch McGrath in Hervey Bay.

Pam Gregory
Secretary
Financial Controller/Senior Paralegal with 22 years of service with Corser Sheldon
& Gordon Solicitors. Pam has a keen interest in Property Development and assists
local and interstate clients with the development and management of their residential
and commercial projects in the Fraser Coast region.
Pam is a member of a number of organizations that look to develop and enhance the lifestyle of the Fraser Coast residents.

Debbie Potts
Treasurer
Debbie is a Chartered Accountant and partner at local firm CLM Chartered Accountants.
She gained a Bachelor of Commerce through the local campus of USQ being it’s first
internal graduate and went on to complete a Graduate Diploma (ICAA) and Masters in
Applied Taxation. Debbie has a keen interest in all areas of taxation and how they
apply in the real world. Other areas of interest are travel, food/wine, other cultures and shoes.
Graham Young
Councilor
After over 25 years in the corporate world, including ten years running his own IT
consulting company, Graham decided to undertake a ‘sea change’ and in 2005 relocated
to Hervey Bay, subsequently obtaining a lecturing position at the University of
Southern Queensland’s Fraser Coast campus. Currently the Campus Coordinator for
the Faculty of Business, he lectures across a variety of topics in management and
marketing, and thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to blend his practical experiences
with academic theory to educate USQ’s students. His research focus is on strategic
and business planning within SMEs.
Daniel Hunjas

Daniel Hunjas is a director of Edge Marketing. Daniel comes from a diverse experience base in
corporate marketing and advertising. He has worked for various national and international companies
in Australia including Pepsi Cola, Ansett Australia, Hutchison’s Child Care Services and APN News and
Media. Daniel’s core strengths are in the areas of management, marketing and advertising and online strategies.
Bianka Ganser
Councilor
Bianka Ganser was the founder of Salt Cafe located within the five star Peppers Pier
Resort complex. In February 2007, this young entrepreneur realised a dream when she
opened the doors to one of Hervey Bay’s trendiest waterfront restaurants. Her efforts to
position Salt Cafe as a favourite local eatery were rewarded in 2008 with two Fraser Coast
South Burnett Tourism Awards - including Young Tourism Achiever of the Year. Now that Bianka
has sold the cafe, she is using her business experience as well as her tertiary marketing
and event management qualifications to pursue new and exciting projects.
Lawrie Beacham

Co-director of Jeeepart Recyclers the largest specialist Jeep®, Chrysler® &
Dodge® parts re-marketer in the southern hemisphere. With family Lawrie moved to Hervey
Bay in 1996 to establish this business and has been a member of this Chamber since then. Past
President Rotary Club of Hervey Bay Sunrise. Past ARA international delegate for Australia, New
Zealand and Pacific Rim. Active in various district portfolios for Rotary District 9570.
Member of MTAQ. Past President Auto Parts Recyclers Association of Australia.
